The Hour of Pearl

“Luxurious melodies, woven with subtle influences from Clouts' forays into world music...a joy throughout, uplifting and contemplative by turns” Jazz UK

The music on the eight tracks of this CD, released in 2013, ranges from lilting calypso to driving Latin American grooves, hypnotic swirling melodies, klezmer, township rhythms and gospel.

The Hour of Pearl takes its title from a poetic extract from Cannery Row, a novel by the American author John Steinbeck:“a time of great peace, a deserted time, a little era of rest...the interval between day and night when time stops and examines itself.” Scroll down page to listen to tracks from the album:
